My father and I speak once a year.
I've always wanted more of a relationship with him, but I don't need one.
Though it would have been nice to grow up with a father, I've come to realize that I'm an exceptional person without him. Having him around to influence me would have made me a person that I'm sure I would hate to have been.

For me, it speaks to my brothers. How I miss them, I always think of them, one in particular, but I can live my life without him and my other brothers too. Here's to the kids of messed up families. Great poem.
